Bi-folding panel shutter installation
- Always use safety gear and safe lifting practices
- Installation requires two adults
- A frame ladder
- Electric drill with Philips head driver bit
- #1 square head driver bit
- All hard ware and parts are included
- Before starting must fully study, review instructions
Step One:
Please review and sort the following:
- Top installation board attached to track has clip facing the center of the room
- Valance ( ¼” smaller than the opening width, of the window casing, to be installed at completion)
- Panels R-1, R-2, L2, L1
- Corresponding louvers packed in groups of 7-10
- Installation Screws
- Adjusting tool
Step Two:
- R-1 panel, top with a spring loaded pin, bottom with fixed pin support
- R-2 panel, top with a carrier housing, bottom clear of any hardware
- Lay the panels side by side on a carpeted floo,
- The hinge pins are secured in place with blue tape
- Use ½” white screws to connet R-1 to R-2 (one must hold the two panels tightly together the other to place screws in Hinges and tighten. Never over tighten)
- Repeat the above using L-1 and L-2
Step Three:
- Place installation board on the floor (track facing you)
- Place installation screws (black square head)
- Person A; holds the predrilled board to the ceiling of the opening and lines up ½” inch to outside edge of the opening. Person B fully tightens the installation screws
- Place floor L brackets on the floor ( must line with track ) notice the top pin and bottom pin are to line up for proper operation as well has supporting the panel weight.
Step Four:
- Note bottom pin needs to rest on the bottom bracket as the top tension pin goes locks in to place
- Person A, to support and hold the weigh of the panel while per son B places pins accordingly.
- Support both panels using center divider rail ONLY. Hold panels firm and sturdily
- Note lever on the panel clip must turn to lock the carrier in place.( If you should need to take panel off the carrier must push lever up and out to release the carrier)
Step Five:
Repeat step three to install the other bi folds.
Step Six:
Use the adjustment tool for both height and squaring the panels this is a precise and delicate step.
Step Seven:
Finally, identify appropriate louvers per panel, holding the clips, so very gently slide louver into the clips. If you should have any loose louvers use any all purpose clear gel adhesive to fully secure louver.
